Sandra Bullock to host New Orleans premiere of her latest film, 'The Blind Side'
Warner Bros. and The Prytania Theatre will roll out the red carpet for New Orleans' newest A-list resident, Sandra Bullock, as the actress hosts a benefit premiere next week of her latest movie, the sports drama "The Blind Side."
The event, set for Nov. 19, will raise money for Warren Easton Charter High School, which has enjoyed Bullock's support in its efforts to rebuild after 2005's Hurricane Katrina.
(Since Hurricane Katrina, Bullock has become a major patron of Warren Easton, the first public high school for boys in Louisiana. The school, which dates to 1845 and survived going co-ed and desegregating, was having trouble opening after Hurricane Katrina because the storm caused $4 million in damages at the brick Canal Street building where it has operated since 1913.
Bullock has donated several hundred thousand dollars to the school, helping to renovate the school's auditorium, buying new Fighting Eagle band uniforms, chipping in for scholarships and helping to fund a new health clinic.)

(CNN) -- Chris Brown and Rihanna's careers will go head to head again on Friday, when the pair release music videos on the same day.
Brown will join talk show host Wendy Williams for a sit-down and the premiere of his video for "Crawl," from his forthcoming album "Graffiti," and Rihanna will debut her video for "Russian Roulette" on ABC's "20/20" later that evening.
The line-up is like déjà vu of October 30, when ABC aired an exclusive interview with Rihanna in which she detailed Brown's abuse of her, while Brown discussed his version of their personal struggles with MTV News.
Both singers have albums coming out in the next several weeks and both will begin touring before the end of the year. Rihanna's collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West, "Run This Town," is currently at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. Brown's "I Can Transform Ya" with Lil' Wayne and Swizz Beatz is currently at number 24. Making television appearances and being available to fans is a major part of both artists selling their music in a tough economic climate.
According to psychologist Cooper Lawrence, author of "The Cult of Celebrity," though the media has painted him as the villain, fans will continue to rally around Chris Brown as long as he keeps doing what he is doing: publicly apologizing, remaining in the spotlight, touring and making music.

“Let’s just say we are hoping the premiere episode will be Cher-tastic,” Griffin says of her show, which documents the comedian’s adventures in Hollywood, where she sometimes gets the star treatment and sometimes does not. In the last season, Kathy got lessons on how to be an A-lister from stars like Bette Midler, Paris Hilton and Rosie O’Donnell.
In the new season, Kathy will continue traipsing around the globe with Team Griffin, her mother, a box of wine and maybe even Levi Johnston, her rep said.
“Wasilla here we come!” Kathy says.
Shooting of the 10-episode season gets under way in January.

Britney Spears is breaking her silence on the lip-synching debate that has surrounding her first Australian tour.
"I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show," Spears said Tuesday in a statement. "Some reporters have said they love it and some don't. I came to Australia for my fans!"
Spears has been under fire ever since she arrived in Australia last week. The Fair Trade Minister for the state of New South Wales kicked off the controversy by saying Australians would not tolerate a "Mickey Mouse" performance by the former Disney star.
The local media then reported that fans walked out of the singer's first Australian performance last Friday after just a few songs, describing her concert as "boring" and "stiff."
While Spears' camp has defended the outcry by saying it's common knowledge that the pop star lip syncs in concert, the Musicians Union of Australia believes more should be done to let Australian concert-goers know exactly what they're paying for.
"It's not right that people are going to the concert when they are being misled," Terry Noone, the union's federal secretary, told ABC News Online. "That's the issue. It's not about music, it's about false advertising."
"It all comes back to truth and accuracy," added Noone. "There should be a message saying if things are going to be lip-synced or mimed so that people know what they're buying."
Spears is due to play the first of three sold-out shows in Melbourne on Wednesday night before continuing the rest of her Australian run.

Lionsgate has officially released the first teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s big screen adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book Kick-Ass. For those of you who haven’t been following this project, the film was produced independently and the first footage won over the thousands of people packed into Hall H at Comic-Con. The story is essentially about an average teenager named Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero.
As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

Jeff Zucker to take charge of the NBC/GE/Universal/Comcast clusterfuck
NEW YORK -- Comcast and GE have agreed to make NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker the head of their proposed joint venture, but the structure of a new board is still being negotiated, sources familiar with the matter said.
The two sides have been in talks to reach a deal that would give Comcast a 51% stake in the NBC Universal venture, which would also house the cable networks now belonging to Comcast. They recently agreed to value NBC Universal at about $30 billion, sources previously told Reuters.
Under the terms being discussed, Zucker will lead the new entity, with no clauses for him to leave after a specific period, the sources said Tuesday. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the details have not been made public.
As part of the proposal, NBC Universal would become a joint venture, 51% owned by Comcast and 49% by GE. Comcast would contribute around $4 billion to $6 billion in cash, as well as its collection of cable networks to pay for its stake.

Ryan Seacrest announced the Ryan, Rock My Town contest this morning, wherein fans of the Season 8 Idol finalists basically have to go to demand that the threesome come play a gig on their turf. The city with the most requests wins the concert. (In other words, Adam Lambert theoretically could play in Peoria.) That said, the demanding doesn’t really involve much more than typing in your zip code.
At any rate, the 2009 Idol Summer Tour wrapped September 15. So this could be the last time you see these three together again. Ever.

Sad news for Celine Dion, who in August was reported to be pregnant with an embryo that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen for the past eight years. Dion, 41, had embryos frozen for in-vitro fertilization while trying to conceive her first child, Rene-Charles, now 8.

In unfortunate news for Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil, the singer is no longer pregnant, a source close to the family tells In Touch. "While she and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting," the friend says. In August, a rep for the "My Heart Will Go On" star confirmed her pregnancy, while reports surfaced that she used fertility treatments to expand her family. Celine and Rene have an 8-year-old son, Rene-Charles.

Following the casting of Quantum Leap’s Scott Bakula as Chuck’s dad, sources confirm to me exclusively that another sci-fi icon has been tapped for the show. Robert Patrick, a.k.a. the T-1000, is slated to appear midway through the third season. But rather than coming from the future, Patrick will play Col. Keller, a mysterious figure from Casey’s past in “Chuck Versus the Tic Tac,” which I hear will be a big episode for Adam Baldwin’s newly-minted colonel. While Michael Lohan continues his near daily release of embarrassing and hitherto private phone call recordings in a misguided, press-hungry bid to shame his daughter into recovery, Lindsay Lohan's mother is finally speaking out about his despicable tactics.
"The tapes were from a long time ago, and for a father to stoop this low is unforgivable," she tells E! News, before imploring people to consider the source.
"My ex-husband has been in and out of jail for 10 years. My children and I gave him a chance to get to know them again, and he clearly blew that chance!"
We'll say. And while Dina, along with Lindsay and Lindsay's former assistant, are among those threatening legal action against Michael for his leaky ways, she also says that he should never have had the opportunity—or the access—to record phone calls like the one involving Heath Ledger in the first place.
"I have had a criminal order of protection from the domestic violence sector since 2005," she says, adding that the order extends through 2011. "He was not supposed to even be harassing me by phone."
"My heart is breaking for my children that he could do this. He has no visitation anymore and is six months behind in child support. The authorities have been alerted!"
